My LCD screen on my digital camera is broken?

My digital cameras LCD screen is broke. The SCREEN ITSELF IS NOT CRACKED NOR SCRATCHED and I have never dropped it. The camera has no outside brusies or anything. It still looks brand new. How could this have happend. Prior to it being broken it was inside of it's case which I put inside of the armrest of my car for about three hours on a cool day in March. What could have caused this damage?

1. It was probably the manufacturer's fault. See if you're still covered by warrrany and RMA, or return it for another one.
