How to protect my camcorder when I fly?

I'll be flying during my vacation soon and want to protect my camcorder when the airport people xray my bag. On a previous flight, I think the xray machine broke my gameboy light fixture, so I don't want it zapping and destroying my expensive camcorder. Is there anything I can do or should I even be worried that my camcorder will be damaged by the xrays?

1. Can't say. My brother took his on a flight and it was safe.
2. Firstly, put your camcorder in its bag, then once covered put it in another bag (preferly surrounded with soft materials, not metal or some of the sort), I don't think you'll have any problems, then its your responsibility when you hold it.

When I flew to California I strapped my camcorder around my neck and with all the turbulents and rain and strong winds I thought for sure it was a goner but sure as I am telling you the truth that little bugger (camcorder) stay around my neck. but I must be getting to old for flying.. Once I arrived at Chicago O'Hara airport I did notice my left arm was a wee bit tired..I hope that this helps you in some way.
4. Protect your expensive camcoder, hmm, lemme think....Use a condom. I am serious. Wrap a condom around it and no one will touch it.
