What is a good low light camcorder?

What is a good low light camcorder? I don't wan't to add any extra light. I want it to record with whatever light is available.

1. My old Sony Video8/TR511E in the total dark of the Jenolan Caves gave good vision in the viewfinder; but (because of 'Murphy's Law') the camera has since ceased playback and further recording, so I cannot view the reults. Previously around a campfire it showed up the shadow details well. The infra-red light source is built into the camera with an "on-off switch on the side. Now, I need help to sort out the recorder section.
2. The best one I've heard of is the Canon XH - A1 is by far the best one in my opinion but it's costly around $3500 it is also an HDV so that's why is expensive.
