Video Camera Lights

The screen on my Insignia HD camcorder is flashing like a strobe light and the video is really bright.?

It is only the screen on the camcorder. it doesn't affect it when its uploaded onto my computer. It is really annoying to look at when trying to record a video... help please! and thank you!
