why did the break and battery lights came out while driving?

I have a Toyota 92 pickup and once i was driving, suddenly the lights of the breaks and the battery came out . I continued driving but it didn't go. Could it be a sensor?

1. Try a new alternator. You can tell if the alternator is working by starting the vehicle and disconnecting the battery. If the truck dies it is the alternator if it continues to run then take it to a mechanic.
2. Usually on older vehicle those lights come on vehicle its the alternator that is going out. Take vehicle to shop or if you might have a digital multi meter test alternator. Make sure atleast putting out 14 volts or more. if less replace alternator.
