What is causing my car battery light to come on and inside lights start to flicker? Noticed sometimes after turning engine off, nothing happens as in car wont start. Mechanic computer checked car and found something stuck (whatever the hell that means). Car worked for about a week and then battery light came back on, inside lights flicker.

What does it mean when the brake and battery lights come on at the same time then turn off again randomly? I have a 1996 Nissan Altima. For about 3 weeks the battery and brake lights have come on and off at the same time randomly. I had my altenator and battery tested and both are giving off a charge. I just put tons of money in the car and do not want to keep adding to that amount since I am planning on getting rid of it in the spring. The Brakes also looked good. Help please!

2002 Hyundai Santa Fe- The brake and battery warning lights on dash keep illuminating and there is a bad smell The brake and battery lights were illuminating off and on for a couple of weeks- usually accompanied by a smell of something burning. Laptop Does Not Turn ON, Power and Battery Lights continually Blink ON and OFF? The laptop Dell Inspiron 1150 does not turn ON, when the power adapter is unplugged and the power button is pushed nothing happens. When the adapter is plugged in and the power button is pushed the power light and the battery light repeatedly blinks on and off but the laptop does not boot up. I tried booting up with the battery removed and using two different power adapters, one that I know is working. The laptop still will not boot up.

Why are my 1990 Toyota Corolla brake and battery lights on? I have a 1990 Toyota Corolla (about 215,000 miles). This morning I started my car and the the brake and battery light stayed on. This has happened before but the both lights would flicker and eventually I needed a new alternator (about 5 months ago). Anyways, I drove around for a min to see if it would go away. They did not but they also did not flicker at all. When I shut off the car and restarted the lights did not go back on and I drove about 12 miles to work and the lights did not turn on at any point. Is this indicative of a future problem or is it just a possible one-time occurence. Also, I'm not sure if this is related but 2 days ago my car would not start. A friend cleaned my battery and replaced the distributor cap and it starts now. Any relation? I will wait and see if it happens again b/c the lights did not come on while i was driving (they just didn't turn off as usually when i started the ignition) so i really don't think it is the alternator and the brake pads are fairly new too.

In the past, the brake warning light has come on when I have need to add brake fluid. Also, I have had the battery charge warning light come on when the battery was getting weak and needed changing. Pretty obvious stuff. But now the battery charge warning and the brake warning light are both coming on together. They will also turn off for a while, and then come back on 5 minutes or so later. Why do the parking lights keep flashing after changing a car battery? I recently took my 1997 Subaru Impreza to get a new battery. After they installed the battery, the parking lights flashed, and continued to flash, even after starting, moving, and locking and unlocking the doors. One mechanic suggested to use the remote lock and unlock device. We drove all the way home with the lights flashing, found the little wireless remote to unlock the doors, pressed the button and the flashing stopped. I was just wondering why the car would do that or what its for? Most of the people there said they have never seen it before.

Why are the battery and brake lights on 2000 Daewoo Leganza? Quick and Dirty: My battery and brake lights are dimly lit with the car running. My battery crapped out today, I was able to jump it and get about 4-5 miles. Replaced the battery and the lights are still on. Long Story: 3 days ago I 'fixed' my tail light problem. The driver's side tail-light would stay on with the headlights on-- basically the wire that ran near the fuse box along the trim broke, I rigged it with a thicker gauge wire.-- I don't know if this cause have jacked up my electrical system! After I 'fixed' the wire, the next time I started my car the lights came on as described above and my radio had reset to (like I disconnected the battery or unplugged the radio all together). Today, the battery died in traffic (after a really weak start and the car slowly powering down)... the air bag light came on and the other two lights went off. I was able to jump the car and get it 4-5 miles-- at this point, out of fear the wiring was the cause-- I re-disconnected the wiring I fixed-- with no change/improvement. I took my battery back to AutoZone and had it checked, got a 'Bad Battery' from the machine. I put a new battery in this afternoon and the car is running fine (for now) but the two lights are still on as described above... ANY IDEAS??? Did I fry something or did my alternator go at the exact time I 'fixed' my tail light wiring problem. Other stuff: I already checked my radio-- no loose wires or improper connections. I don't know if there are any fuses I should check in the car??!? Thanks!

I start my car, the car stays on for 1min then dies,bad battery or alternator? My lights stay on bright though My car starts then after about 30secs to 1 min, the rpm gauge drops, then the car dies. My head lights and speedometer lights stay bright though. Is this a bad alternator or a bad battery? I have a little less than a quarter tank of gas in my car.
