What kind of video camera should i get for short films?? I am a beginner and wanna start filming short films except i need a video camera. I dont really know much terminology and need some serious help. I want a camera in which you can film on and then upload it all on your computer and make it on a dvd or something. I have a windows XP so i would need something compatible with that. I only have around $200-$500 to spend on the camera so i need something cheap yet it is a good camera (good sound, video, lighting, etc.) So can anyone help me with what camera i should get?
Video Camera With Lights?? I need a camera that had the little Dv cd's and That Has a light/Flash light in it.I cant find one that is cheap or Are there any lights I can Attach to my camera that just need batteries??Not flash lights but just a light I can stick on the camera.
Why are there what look like video cameras on above traffic lights at main intersections? At most major intersections in Houston Texas, there appears to be video cameras above each traffic light or on each of the four corner support poles. I know the city is contemplating "red light cameras" but the initiative has not been approved. What are these cameras used for? Who monitors them? Can you get a video tape of the intersection to be used for accident investigation?
Red light camera. The video shows me in the right lane making a turn.? I got a notice in the city of Burleson, TX that I ran a red light. The camera video shows me in the far right lane making a turn. When coming to the turn, I slowed down enough to make sure no one was coming into the lane I would be turning into but I will admit I did not technically "stop" at the red light, I'm probably going to end up paying it anyway, but this really burns me up. Is this something worth fighting?
How bright is a video camera light measured in lumins? I want to buy a video light that is measured in lumins (a measurement of light) in the specifications. The specs state that the power of the light is 600 lumins. How can I get an idea of the brightness of this small video light. I am familar with the power of a 10 watt video light and I know that I need somewhat more than that with the new HD camera that I bought. Is 600 lumins equal to about 10, 20 or 30 watts ???? please help .....Thanks Tom G.
Any tips on video taping Christmas lights? Every year I try to record the Christmas light displays in my neighborhood with my digital video camera, but every year my recordings don't come out very well. They either come out blurry or shaky or with too much contrast (in other words, you can see the lights but nothing else). Any tips? Thanks guys, you rock!
Can i get out of a red light video camera ticket that said i went through, but i turned right.....? can i get out of a red light video camera ticket that says i went through an intersection? but i made right turn.... can i use the technicallity of the wording because i didnt go through the intersection, but when i called the lady she said that because i didnt make a full stop i have to pay the 75 bucks, can they just give me this general civil fine?? is a stop and go ticket "or not stopping completely at the red light" the same offense as going through a red light????

What's the name of the on camera lights that AREN'T flashguns? You see them on video cameras generally.. And I've seen it mainly on camera when used for journalism, it gives off some light on the person in front of the camera and is connected by the hot shoe. Like this one: http://www.microsoft.com/library/media/1033/windowsxp/images/using/moviemaker/getstarted/68831-light.jpg
Video Camera Lighting.? I use the Canon Power Shot A530 ( digital camera ) for my videos. I know its a digital camera but i think it works pretty good as a video camera aswell. Well anyways, i just started to try to do green screening with this camera. ( My question isnt about green screening ). But when you are keying out the color of your green screen of your ediot you need the screen to remain one color. But my camera changes the color of my green screen because of the lighting i use. I wanted to know if trhere was a way to turn off the feature that ajusts to the lighting. Becasue it makes it SO HARD to key when it ajusts to the lighting. THANKS ALOT
how much does a decent video camera thingy cost? I want to document my best friends wedding and its preparations etc. I want a camera that doesnt make us all look like crap and what not. BUt not uber expensive. Also should I consider extra lighting if its dark and I dont want the ugly camera light on?

Should I bring my video camera to Walt Disney World? Hi! I might be going to Disney World during christmas time this year for 10 days, and I really want to remember this trip. Should I bring my video camera with me to tape all the lights, rides, my hotel and the entire experience? Thanks in advance!
Lighting for video camera? Hi, i got a sony video camera recorder and i want to make a clear video. When i record day light outdoor video, it looks nice, clean, and perfect, but when i record in door under flourescent light, the videos show dot dot dot as if the lights aren't bright enough. any idea on how i can go about making indoor videos more clearer?
A good, easy, light video camera? One of my friends suggested recording my summer on tape to see what happens and I think it'd be a neat idea. I need a nice, compact video camera. I've seen the Flop cameras that just plug into your USB port but I don't know how good they are. I'm not looking for a digital camera that takes video. I'm just looking for strictly a video camera.
Finding ASA of video camera with light meter? I have a JVC GY HD100U camera that I need to find the ASA of. I know it is about 320 in HD mode, but I will be shooting in DV and I forget what the ASA is. I know that using a light meter, one can find the ASA of a camera- how is this done?
Reasons why the light bulb and the video camera are important.? I am doing a biography presntation about Thomas Edison for school.I am suppose to act like i'm thomas edison. And i was thinking about sayin something like: If it werent for me,you guys would have yellow teeth because the dentist wouldn't have a light bulb to see in your mouth. because he invented the light bulb. i wanted to know if you guys had any suggestions, and ideas for my presentation. like a witty comment or something.
Ticketed Due to Doctored/Phony Red Light Camera Photograph/Video? (San Diego)? In San Diego's Mission Valley area, I was driving south on Mission Center Road on a weekday mid-afternoon, when I entered the red light camera intersection at Camino Del Rio North. The light was YELLOW. My eye was on the light the entire time. I entered on a yellow, and it was not until I was HALFWAY through the intersection that it changed to red, and then the camera lights flashed. I later received a near $500 ticket, and a charge that the light was red BEFORE I entered. Moreover, one of the photographs with the ticket shows the light as red prior to my entering the intersection, and the video online shows the same thing. BOTH ARE WRONG. They do NOT reflect what actually happened. Right after the cameras flashed, I took out a pad and pen, and at the next intersection (just seconds later) wrote down what had happened. I did not wait to get the ticket to try to think back about the event. We all know that the motivation for having these red light cameras is revenue. Cities like San Diego want to pull in money, period. (If installing cameras had anything to do with ensuring that people obey the law, then there would be cameras in the offices, boardrooms, and back alleys at every governmental office in the country). Of course, driving through red lights can cause accidents, even fatal ones, and I am NOT in support of people doing that. But the fact is that my light was YELLOW, and, as I said, I had my eye on it the entire time. Please spare me any lecturing on stopping at yellow lights. If safe to do so, I usually do. But in this case, even though I was not speeding, I made the split-second decision to pass through, and was able to do so safely. (Moreover, sudden breaking can cause rear-end collisions). According to printed information online by by San Diego Police and City of San Diego Traffic Violations Bureau, "You will only receive a red light photo citation if you enter the intersection after the signal turns red. If you find yourself 'trapped' in the intersection while the signal turns from yellow to red, you will not get a citation". Well, that may be how things are supposed to work. But it is NOT what happened in my case. Can photographs and video, even for something like this, be doctored? Of course. It is very easy for even amateurs to do. Does the city (San Diego) and/or the company (American Traffic Solutions) that supposedly owns these cameras have motive to do something fishy? Of course. Even if the company receives a flat rate for these ticket systems, it still wants its client (City of San Diego) to profit, and the City obviously wants to profit by extorting from drivers. The City counts on people being intimidated by the threatening nature of the ticket and court documentation that it sends to an accused driver. Most drivers probably just pay the ticket. I am wondering if anybody has had a similar problem of a ticket issued by a red light camera when entering on a yellow light. (Even other red light camera experiences may be helpful to me). I would appreciate any relevant information that you can offer. Also, if anyone (especially in San Diego) has gone to court to fight such a ticket, what should I expect when I do so? Should I anticipate that someone from the City will be sent to represent its side? Are judges for this kind of thing willing to budge? Or do they just accept whatever the city/police/photographs/video say? Am I better off sending in a written declaration instead of appearing in court? Has anyone successfully challenged the Constitutionality of these red light camera tickets? Has anyone lost on the first attempt in court or in writing, but then won when filing an appeal? My chance to win this may be slim. But I refuse to give in without fighting it. If everyone fought these phony camera systems, the abuses of innocent drivers might cease. Even better would it be if cities around the country did what Cincinnati did, and have voters amend their city rules to not allow red light cameras. I have not had a moving violation in more than 12 years, and then it was for a burnt out tail light. Otherwise, my record is clean. This has been a very stressful situation to be in. Any helpful information will be appreciated. Please, SERIOUS replies only. I appreciate any helpful information that anyone wishes to post here about my questions. Alternatively, or after the time to post has passed, any helpful information that you would be so kind as to email to me would be much appreciated. Thanks, everyone!

What is a good camera/video camera to travel with? Next year, my dad is planning to walk the kokoda trail, and I plan to buy him a digital camera/video camera for him to take. I need some help in finding one which will meet his travel needs. It needs to be light weight, take good quality pictures and video. Waterproof (if possible, or, comes with the option of waterproof casing). Any ideas from anyone would be greatly appreciated... batterys would proberbly be the best bet, as when your travelling in the wilderness, you hardly encounter a powerpoint
do i have the right to put video cameras, flood lights and warning sign on my property for my protection? An old lady that lives across me came with her friend and started asking me about why i have signs saying smile you are on camera and flood lights on all night and said that it was scaring her. Apparently the reflextion of the flood light is going in her house. Is this ok and do i have the right? the lights are only go on half my driveway. She complains about everything like i parked my car on he side of the street when the carpenter came and all that. The flood lights are small outdoor flood lights like the halogen style.

Buying a decent video camera without spending alot of money? Okay.. I've looked at SO many video cameras but i don't know which one will be right. I'm going to make a short movie and i need a decent camera. The movies just a project and it'd be nice to see it in good quality. I have £200 to spend ($400) but i'd prefer not to spend THAT much on one. It's a horror film so the camera will have to be good in low lighting. Any ideas?
what would u recommend for a video camera? i want a new video camera....here's what i need: a REALLY good zoom, that is gonna be clear NOT fuzzy, a feature that will make it stable even if i shake a little, and i need for it to be small, i need a good light on it, and just basically an all round good video camera that would be easy to take on trips and such. and i dont wanna pay a TON for it! do u guys have any suggestions??? thanx a bunch!
What kind of video camera should we get? My best friend and I want to get a video camera that has good video quality, good sound quality, good night shots quality, long battery life, a light, and SD memory card. We have searched and it seems like every time we find a good camera, there's something wrong with it. And also what is a good editing program compatible with both PCs and Macs
Does anyone know of a good video camera to get? I want to get a video camera so that I can start filming some of the crazy adventures I go on. I'm wondering what type would have a good resolution so if were moving it can still be focused but also be light weight. Any suggestions would help =D.
which video camera would you recomend to shot movies in a good level? I want to start a hobby and I'm looking for a video camera in a sufficient level to shot movies that could be showen in tv. I want to know if it should be digital, what are the recommended models and what other stuff I must have (sound light etc.). what is the basic budget I should plan?
What’s a good video camera for $300 or less? I want a camera with a clear picture and, since I’ll be doing instructional language videos, I want my lips in sync with my voice. I’ll have adequate indoor light. If you suggest a camera, it will help if you can provide a link to a video made using that camera. Thanks! Recommending just a brand name (i.e. Sony) won't work because one brand can have several models that vary widely in price and quality.
Which Video camera should I buy for our family? I am looking for a video camera to buy for my teenage daughter (and the rest of the family) who enjoys creating movies on the computer. We had one, but there's no way to get the image onto the computer easily at home, so the new one should record to a memory card or we should be able to feed its data right into the computer. (the old one we could only do that with still shots) It also needs to have good sound quality and work well in low light conditions because I will be using it to record my partner's band's performances and we may use those for promotional purposes. Still shots are not required at all (never used it on the old camera, we've got another camera for that). It also needs to be tripod ready. Finally, it should be a good cost value because I'm not going to spend thousands of dollars on this thing. Any suggestions?
Cheap HD Video Camera with a Light Relatively cheap, but good, HD Video Camera that has a light so I can film at nighttime. Which one should I get? I'll be making movies with it.
what's a good video camera to buy? I would like to buy a new video camera. It should be compact and light weight with a good battery life. Other than that I'm not even sure what other features I should look for. What video camera models do you like?
How do i make my video camera recordings look like cinema movies? Why is it that when i shoot videos with my camera they look different then real movies? I get that they use precise lighting and stuff but films look darker... I have premiere and final pro. does anyone know how i can make my movies look like the pros do any tutorials or anything at all would be helpful. thanks.
I need a new video camera, but what should I get? My old camera is a Hitachi VM-E635LA which uses the old 8MM tapes. I do a weekly "Gear Review" video for the Internet and would like to upgrade as the batteries on the cam are loosing a charge fast and the recording heads are getting fuzzy. I have tried the Sony Handycam mini DV and although the photo quality is great, it is hard to use with the computer. You have to use the software that came with it to transfer the video to the desktop computer for editing and I could not get it to work with my editing software, (Adobe Premiere). I am not sure they make good 8mm cams anymore of if I want a digital over that. I'm lost at what I should get. I'm not even sure what I should set up for a budget for a new camera. I have good lighting and software for editing. I just need a good quality, clear, easy to use camera for my videos. Any help would be great, thanks. If you need any other info just post and I'll add in the details, thanks "go down to the camera store and ask a specialist about what ur after and prices and they can match u to the right one. goodluck" Thanks, yea my brother gets a discount at best buy so if there's one i like that they have at bust buy ill try to get it there. i guess i have to try some out and talk to a few of the guys who sell these cameras all day...
Can flash light be used while taking video with digital still cameras? I tried a couple digital cameras. I was not able to figure out how to turn on the flash light as a lighting source while taking video. Sometimes when I take video with digital camera where lighting is not sufficient, I wish I could turn on the flash light on the camera. On some camera phones, you can turn on the flash light and take video. I wonder do digital cameras have this feature. Or maybe this feature only exist on some newer digital cameras. If so, what is this feature called? What feature should I be looking for when buying a digital camera?
what is the best semi professional video camera out there? hi i am an emerging film maker and have soem projects coming up with making videos for bands and short films and i am looking to upgrade my mini dv and am lookign at a range of £800 to £1700 - what is the best camera that will have attachments for sound light and good quality images? thnaks for yr help
what do you think the best video camera is? im looking to buy a video camera but i know nothing about camcorders and dont really know what to get. i want it to have a very good picture, lots of memory and is good in low light environments. its main use is going to be for youtube videos. i dont really care how big or small it is but picture quality is of my upmost concern, and how well it performs in low lit surroundings. can you please help?
Will be purchasing a camcorder soon, what video camera would be best? We will soon be having children (2) and price is really not a deterrent, so long as the value of the features for the price are worth it. I know there are different types of cameras on the market (HD vs CCD, or digital vs. tape), but what would y'all recommend for a camera that has an easy transfer (memory stick or tape?), is not bulky, will last for awhile (use for the next few years (5 or so)), have consistent features (zoom , quality video), have good light quality? Or what features should I be interested in? As I have a great digital camera- having a still option within the video would not be an important option.
How Come When I Turn on my mac book the video chat light goes on? some times wen i turn on my mac book the light next to the camera turns on. Also known as the video chat light. When this happens the video camera doesn't work. I would invite someone to a video chat but they couldn't see me. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Video camera for every day use? I need a video camera that isn't too big, or too small. I don't want the crappy point and shoot thing, i want something that has a light for filming at night. I just need something to film every day stupid stuff and hanging out with friends, it needs to be something i can carry around without it being VERY noticable.
VIDEO CAMERA/CAMCORDER question? i wanna get a 6 mp or higher digital video camera or camcorder, that is made for video taping with night vision and maybe a video light for 260 dollars or less any suggestions?!
