Red light camera. The video shows me in the right lane making a turn.? I got a notice in the city of Burleson, TX that I ran a red light. The camera video shows me in the far right lane making a turn. When coming to the turn, I slowed down enough to make sure no one was coming into the lane I would be turning into but I will admit I did not technically "stop" at the red light, I'm probably going to end up paying it anyway, but this really burns me up. Video Camera Lighting.? I use the Canon Power Shot A530 ( digital camera ) for my videos. I know its a digital camera but i think it works pretty good as a video camera aswell. Well anyways, i just started to try to do green screening with this camera. ( My question isnt about green screening ). But when you are keying out the color of your green screen of your ediot you need the screen to remain one color. But my camera changes the color of my green screen because of the lighting i use. I entered on a yellow, and it was not until I was HALFWAY through the intersection that it changed to red, and then the camera lights flashed. I later received a near $500 ticket, and a charge that the light was red BEFORE I entered. Moreover, one of the photographs with the ticket shows the light as red prior to my entering the intersection, and the video online shows the same thing. BOTH ARE WRONG. They do NOT reflect what actually happened. Right after the cameras flashed, I took out a pad and pen, and at the next intersection (just seconds later) wrote down what had happened. I did not wait to get the ticket to try to think back about the event. We all know that the motivation for having these red light cameras is revenue. Cities like San Diego want to pull in money, period. (If installing cameras had anything to do with ensuring that people obey the law, then there would be cameras in the offices, boardrooms, and back alleys at every governmental office in the country). Of course, driving through red lights can cause accidents, even fatal ones, and I am NOT in support of people doing that. But the fact is that my light was YELLOW, and, as I said, I had my eye on it the entire time. Please spare me any lecturing on stopping at yellow lights. If safe to do so, I usually do. But in this case, even though I was not speeding, I made the split-second decision to pass through, and was able to do so safely. (Moreover, sudden breaking can cause rear-end collisions). According to printed information online by by San Diego Police and City of San Diego Traffic Violations Bureau, "You will only receive a red light photo citation if you enter the intersection after the signal turns red. If you find yourself 'trapped' in the intersection while the signal turns from yellow to red, you will not get a citation". Well, that may be how things are supposed to work. But it is NOT what happened in my case. Can photographs and video, even for something like this, be doctored? Of course. It is very easy for even amateurs to do. Does the city (San Diego) and/or the company (American Traffic Solutions) that supposedly owns these cameras have motive to do something fishy? Of course. Even if the company receives a flat rate for these ticket systems, it still wants its client (City of San Diego) to profit, and the City obviously wants to profit by extorting from drivers. The City counts on people being intimidated by the threatening nature of the ticket and court documentation that it sends to an accused driver. Most drivers probably just pay the ticket. I am wondering if anybody has had a similar problem of a ticket issued by a red light camera when entering on a yellow light. (Even other red light camera experiences may be helpful to me). I would appreciate any relevant information that you can offer. Also, if anyone (especially in San Diego) has gone to court to fight such a ticket, what should I expect when I do so? Should I anticipate that someone from the City will be sent to represent its side? Are judges for this kind of thing willing to budge? I need a new video camera, but what should I get? My old camera is a Hitachi VM-E635LA which uses the old 8MM tapes. I do a weekly "Gear Review" video for the Internet and would like to upgrade as the batteries on the cam are loosing a charge fast and the recording heads are getting fuzzy. I have tried the Sony Handycam mini DV and although the photo quality is great, it is hard to use with the computer. You have to use the software that came with it to transfer the video to the desktop computer for editing and I could not get it to work with my editing software, (Adobe Premiere). I am not sure they make good 8mm cams anymore of if I want a digital over that. I'm lost at what I should get. I'm not even sure what I should set up for a budget for a new camera. what do you think the best video camera is? im looking to buy a video camera but i know nothing about camcorders and dont really know what to get. i want it to have a very good picture, lots of memory and is good in low light environments. its main use is going to be for youtube videos. i dont really care how big or small it is but picture quality is of my upmost concern, and how well it performs in low lit surroundings. can you please help?

Will be purchasing a camcorder soon, what video camera would be best? We will soon be having children (2) and price is really not a deterrent, so long as the value of the features for the price are worth it. I know there are different types of cameras on the market (HD vs CCD, or digital vs. tape), but what would y'all recommend for a camera that has an easy transfer (memory stick or tape?), is not bulky, will last for awhile (use for the next few years (5 or so)), have consistent features (zoom , quality video), have good light quality? Or what features should I be interested in? As I have a great digital camera- having a still option within the video would not be an important option.
